My name is Fabiola Garcia, I was born in Guatemala and I live in the state of Connecticut. My problem with obesity started my first day of work. My obsession with food woke up as soon as I got home. Every evening, I would take food up to my room; one bowl of cereal, then a sandwich with coffee or maybe some cookies right before bedtime; moreover, the cravings for food even interrupted my sleep, waking up with cravings during well into the night. That’s what led me to go up to 174 pounds. Every morning, getting dressed was such a torture because I struggled to put my pants on. I still wouldn’t accept that my weight had made me go up a few sizes. I would rather tear my clothes and saw them back together than having to wear “big and tall” clothes. One day my despair was such that I stood in front of the mirror and with tears in my eyes I screamed: ""I have go back to the way I was before,"" because that woman in front of me who was full of fat everywhere was not really me.
